Founder & Director
Elias founded Orinoco while reporting from Caracas to help foreign investors understand local conditions. He co-founded Guacamaya and studied Development Studies at SOAS, focusing on Latin American political economy. His background includes research work in London and journalism for publications including Forbes. He is originally from Barcelona.

Guyana and Trinidad and TobagoPhilippe supports Orinoco’s work in Guyana and Trinidad & Tobago. His experience combines Southern Caribbean geopolitics with project management, operational improvements and distribution development. He conducts market research and due diligence, helping foreign businesses assess opportunities, identify risks and establish operations through practical plans and trusted local relationships.

Jorge covers Venezuela, Colombia and Ecuador and co-founded Guacamaya. He advises on political scenarios, governance and institutional dynamics, drawing on experience with campaigns, companies and international organisations. A UCV International Relations graduate, he is pursuing postgraduate studies in Oil Geopolitics and participated in the U.S. State Department’s SUSI programme.
